Roadmap: AI-Assisted Form Setup

Building a form still takes product judgment: the right labels, the right field types, and a structure respondents can complete quickly. WandForm’s production app focuses on making that workflow reliable first, with AI-assisted setup planned as a future layer.

How it works

The roadmap version of guided setup starts from a plain-language description — for example, “a job application with name, email, years of experience, and a cover letter field” — and turns that into a draft that a user can review before publishing.

  1. Identifies the intent — what the form is for, who fills it, what data it collects
  2. Maps fields — selects the best field type for each data point (short text vs. long text, URL vs. email, number vs. select)
  3. Applies structure — groups related fields, orders them logically, adds appropriate labels and placeholder text

The goal is not to skip review. The goal is to reduce the repetitive setup work while keeping the builder as the source of truth before a form goes live.

Why field type selection matters

The difference between asking for “experience” as a short text field versus a number field is not cosmetic; it affects data quality downstream. Today’s builder gives teams explicit control over those choices. Future guided setup should suggest sensible defaults without hiding the decision.

Iterative refinement

Iterative refinement is part of the roadmap because first drafts are rarely perfect. The production expectation is that generated suggestions must remain editable, auditable, and easy to undo.

What it doesn’t do (yet)

We’re being explicit about the current product surface: AI generation is not a shipped production capability today. Teams can build, publish, collect submissions, view analytics, and route notifications now; guided setup remains planned work.

Try it

Start from the dashboard to build a production form with the current builder. As guided setup graduates into the app, we will document the exact capabilities and limits before presenting it as a shipped feature.
